Anime. Now with tasty cat meat

Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

Note: the romaji version is “Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu”.

What the fuck is wrong with this anime?

I took interest in this anime shortly after attending AWA13. I had never heard of it before (yes, point and laugh - ok, that’s enough. No, really.), so I thought I’d give it a shot. Reckless, nihongo might say. Ah, well. Read the rest of this entry »

Zero no Tsukaima

Note: the English translation for this anime is, “Familiar of Zero”.  The 2nd season is, “The Familiar of Zero: Knight of the Two Moons”

I just finished this anime, and I loved it! Very good animation, entertaining and funny story, coupled with a weird master/slave relationship between the two main characters, makes this another anime that stands out. Read the rest of this entry »

CODE-E

This anime has a refreshing opening theme, even though no vocal track is present (one does exist on the ending theme, however). On a nice audio setup, the bass hits hard and long at certain points. Read the rest of this entry »

School Days

When I first came across this anime, I was a little skeptical; so far, my experience with school life-based anime had been dull. This anime proved to break that mold and provided an entertaining, even exciting, story, while still providing lots of beautiful animation and music. Read the rest of this entry »

I’m a little disappointed with this anime. I had high hopes for it to be the Japanese answer to, “The Last Air Bender”, but it’s just leaving a mediocre taste in my mouth; still, the series has only just begun at 15 episodes, so I may hold my breath a bit longer before I pass full judgement. Eureka Seven

Another great anime. At 50 episodes, this of a longer length than most animes these days, but it kept this otaku thoroughly enthralled. From the studio who brought you Full Metal Alchemist, this is one of the few mecha animes I’ve enjoyed; perhaps that is because it mixes a lot of other stuff in with the mecha action, ne? I first saw this anime back in fall of 2006, and easily dismissed based on the animation style. Fast forward to the beginning of July, and I finally started watching it after talking with my brother. This anime is first I’ve commented on that is still airing, so keep an eye on this one. Elfen Lied

Awesome anime. Gory, romantic, and dramatic. You’ll see loyalty, death, sadness, and retribution. One of the best animes I’ve ever seen. Read the rest of this entry »
